GI practices are increasingly looking for nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) to provide initial screening and treatment of patients prior to care by a physician.
The Principles of Gastroenterology for the NP and PA (Principles of GI) course provides GI-specific clinical and practice management instruction that enables NPs and PAs to work effectively in diverse practice settings.
Course sessions touch on the basics of managing patients with a broad range of GI conditions/disorders and are led by physicians, experienced advanced practice providers (APPs) and other experts.
Though this course will be virtual, interaction with faculty, as well as peer-to-peer networking through panel discussion and breakout sessions, will be integral components of the conference to ensure attendees acquire the knowledge they need.
Included in your attendance of the virtual course will be free access to all recorded on-demand course content via AGA University.
Designed by GI advanced practice providers, this course covers four of the most prevalent biologic and oral small-molecule treatments of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD): TNF antagonist (anti-TNF), anti-integrin, interleukin, and Janus Kinase (JAK) inhibitor therapies.
The module will also include an update on the impact of COVID-19 on IBD.
Presented in a case-based format, this free resource is an excellent primer for those newer to GI and a practical review for those more experienced.
